What to expect

Sometimes, at the end of a tour, you have the feeling you didn't see as much as you wished, and it can be disappointing. Especially in a place like this where you should spend probably one week to visit the 12 different museums of the Vatican. But that is definitely too much! So with this tour we decided for a good compromise.. a quite inclusive, overall and comprehensive visit in a way that instead of scratching the surface, or just having a sample, your feeling at the end will be that you really have seen the most.

So, apart from the main highlights, Sistine Chapel, Saint Peter's Basilica and the Raphael's room, whose explanations will be more relaxed, detailed and accurate having more time at your disposal, with this tour you won't miss sections permanently empty because they are off the beaten track towards the Chapel.

Be prepared to enjoy the outstanding Pinacoteca, a collection of italian paintings from the XII till the XIX century with masterpieces by Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Caravaggio, just to mention some of them and the curious pavilion of the carriages, a permanent exhibition regarding the evolution of means of transportation of the Popes from carriages to cars!

Imagine you'll be nearly the only one inside this almost empty section whilst the other groups will be struggling to get to the chapel! Our strategy will be different.. letting the first big crowds throng the main corridors while we'll be quietly relaxing and enjoying art, visiting those galleries in a specific moment, trying to fill that time frame between the first and second big wave of tourists.

No worries though, we won't leave you without food to atone for your sins, even if you'd be in the right place for this! We planned a break for lunch on our way to the Sistine Chapel.
