A great experience

Ferdinando was in command of our group from the start! Don’t get me wrong, he’s not bossy he’s just...a commandingly knowledgeable presence. We were all very keen to hear his every word, and we rather breathlessly listened to his descriptions of gladiators, wild animals, and executions, and learned about the Colosseum’s fascinating architecture, the underground elevator system for popping the wild animals up into the arena...fantastic. This was my third time in Rome (the first was decades ago), butmy first visit to the underground level of the Colosseum. My daughter and her two children ages 8 and 10 were with us. Ferdinando did a great job of keeping the children’s interest up, without ‘dumbing down’ the tour for us adults. In such hot weather, it’s quite refreshing to take a tour which is indoor and yet it’s not a museum as such, it still feels like an outdoor adventure. This was my grandchildren’s favorite site in Rome by far, which certainly increased our satisfaction. Many thanks to Ferdinando for striking the absolute perfect tone with everyone, and giving us a wealth of information which brought it all to life.
