Terrific tour guide!

After reading reviews of many tours and tour guides guides, we chose Ferdinando to be our guide for a private tour of the Forum and Colosseum because of his focus on archeology - my husband is knowledgeable in Roman history and I wanted someone who was would verify what he knew and offer more. We were not disappointed. Ferdinando was terrific, a professional. He provided clear instructions on where to meet away from the crowds. He booked all the tickets and we moved briskly through the admissions area with no wait. It was hot, as it is in Rome in summer, and Ferdinando chose shady locations to address us. Since there are so many layers to the Roman ground plane, he helped us understand what would have been visible and usable during each period. He brought a binder showing what the temples, alters, tombs, statues would have looked like during the time they were active. His English was perfect and he was friendly, funny, clear, easy to understand and factual, not anecdotal which we appreciated. We learned so much on our Forum Colosseum tour that we booked Ferdinando to take us in his car to Hadrian’s Villa (Villa Adriana). Again, he brought a binder to help us discern from the ruins the luster and extravagance that was the villa. His heart and soul are in his work. I would not hesitate to tour with him again.
